here with some big-time thunderstorms, south of us, northeast of us, northwest of us. but a lot of spots didn't see it. some of the thunderstorms put down an inch, inch and a half of rain. mid-70s in fairfax and springfield. leesburg, it is 72 up in laytonsville and columbia over toward baden. 73 down in fort belvoir and college park, 75. here in town, 78 sticky degrees. feels like 81 already. dew points are in the lower 70s. this is a very juicy tropical air mass. without much of a kicker today. don't expect much in the way of thunderstorm activity. right now, a light east wind at 5 miles per hour. not much has changed. still have that big ridge of high pressure across the middle of the country with thunderstorms up and over and around it. this thing started to expand, actually get bigger and move over toward the east. it will be moving toward us. we also still are dealing with tropical storm bret. trying to flare up a few storms. winds sustained 50 moving northeast at 8 still not a problem for anybody. storms this morning passing just east of chicago. this may cause
